What is the due date for filing an Income Tax Return in India?

For individuals and businesses not requiring audit, the due date is normally 31 July following the financial year. Audit cases are normally 31 October. Belated returns can be filed until 31 December with late fee and interest.

Can a return be revised after filing?

Yes. A revised return can be filed until 31 December of the assessment year, or before the assessment is completed, whichever is earlier. An updated return (ITR-U) is possible later, with additional tax.
