Tax Planning in Guwahati

Tax planning is arranging income, expenses, investments and business structure within the Income Tax Act so that the tax paid is the lowest the law allows. It is done before the year ends, not at filing time. GBA plans it against your actual numbers.

Questions

Questions about this service

Direct answers about tax planning from GBA, Guwahati.

What is the difference between tax planning and tax evasion?

Tax planning uses provisions the Act itself provides: deductions, exemptions, choice of regime and legitimate structure. Tax evasion hides income or claims false deductions and is an offence. GBA only advises the first.

When should tax planning start?

At the start of the financial year, in April, and again around December before investments and advance tax fall due. Planning in March or at filing time leaves very few options.
